So what's Squaredle Express, exactly?
It's the same idea as regular Squaredle, just squeezed down to a 3x3 board. Nine letters, way less real estate to search through, and you can usually knock one out in a couple of minutes. This is the mode we open when there's a kettle boiling, a bus to catch, or five spare minutes between meetings, the full grid can wait, this one's over before you know it.
Don't let the small board fool you
Nine tiles sounds like it shouldn't hide much, but we've leaned on the puzzle generator pretty hard to make sure that's not the case, most boards turn up a real pile of four, five, and six letter words to dig out, and there's usually a handful of bonus words lurking too if you're the type who likes to squeeze a board dry before moving on. It's more crowded in there than it looks.
Same rules, just quicker
Connect letters in any direction, up, down, across, diagonal, exactly like classic mode. Nothing new to learn. What changes is the pace, no clock chasing you, just a smaller board that naturally wraps up faster. Get through one and hit New, there's always another waiting, so it's easy to tell yourself "just one more" a few times in a row.
